Located in
Cape Charles, Virginia, a harbor town on
Virginia’s Eastern Shore where
the Chesapeake Bay meets the
sea, the artists are inspired by
nature, . . . especially the
water.
Located in
the hotel building, the Sunlight
Gallery is a working artist
gallery. Visit us and
experience an ever-changing
collection of art, including
coastal landscapes and
waterviews painted outdoors on
location in the tradition of the
Impressionists.
Sunlight
Gallery is filled with paintings
that are filled with light. In
fact, many of the paintings you
will see are painted “en plein
air,” which literally
translates from French to mean
“in the open air.”
In fact, in
order to capture the unique and
beautiful effects of nature’s
light, the plein air artist
totes the easel and supplies,
sets up “on-site,” and paints
the painting outside.
We are
inspired by the water and sun’s
light around us. In the
gallery, you may find sunrises,
beach scenes, town scenes,
sunsets, and more.
Our motto is “Art, Art & More
Art!” Current displays include art inspired by the
beach. An impressive selection
of original paintings includes
unique plein air originals,
beach, boating, floral and
nature scenes. |
